The Silver Coast of Portugal has managed to avoid the over development and commercialisation of Portugal’s other major tourist resorts. Its beauty and charm has therefore gone undiscovered amongst visitors from Europe, but has always been popular with the Portuguese. The soft, sandy beaches on the Atlantic coastline are cherished by the local population and provide welcome relief from the bustle of city life. As those bustling resorts have become more crowded and expensive, the distinctiveness of the Silver Coast and all that it has to offer, stands in sharp relief, by offering a real slice of Portugal, superb stable weather and great facilities / amenities at affordable prices. It is not surprising therefore; that we are now seeing large numbers of European visitors, and some from far beyond, who are discovering what the Portuguese have known all along. The Apartment is located in Peniche and in comfortable striking distance to the IP-6 dual carriageway that connects with the A-8 motorway. This makes it easy and convenient to explore the whole area by car by driving north via Alcobaça and Batalha en-route to other wellknown attractions such as Fatima and Tomar. The best beach is a short 3 minute walk from the apartment and is the star feature of the property. For Surfing enthusiasts, this stretch of Atlantic coastline has long been revered by the surfing community for the outstanding quality of its waves. Peniche is home to “supertubos” with plenty of surf shops and amenities for professional and amateur surfers. The largest wave ever recorded, rose to 30 meters high near the charming fishing village of Nazaré in 2011. Obidos & Bombarral - If you were to travel north on the A8, for a few minutes, you would arrive at Obidos, the old agricultural town Bombarral in the wine growing region north of Lourinha. The apartment is in the centre of the resort and just a short walk to the beach. The rugged coastline is spectacular with vast stretches of golden sand, ideal for sunbathing, walking and exploring. Many more beautiful beaches are only a short drive away. Para-sailing, scuba diving, surfing and windsurfing are also available further along the coastline. There is also a well-known salt water lagoon a short drive away where children can play safely in the shallow waters. Language & Food - Most Portuguese speak some English or French so communication is easy. Do experience some of the finest Portuguese cuisine and wines in town and most particularly the fresh sea food, including lobster, squid, prawns, sea bass and many other varieties. One of the great joys of visiting Portugal is that you can dine in most good places for under Euro 12.00€ per head for a 3-course meal. Most cafes will do light lunches that are the mainstay for the locals. The quick meals are usually for GBP £8.00 per head or less depending on what wine you would choose. Praia Del Rey. If Golf is your thing, then you have a fantastic selection of 18-hole championship courses to choose from. Praia D'el Rey golf course, which was voted European Golf resort of the year 2007, is a 30 minute drive away and the Atlantic Golf course located in Peniche is about a 35-minute drive due south east from the apartment. In addition, we now have the superb new golfing complex of Bom Sucesso just 6 km away from Praia D’el Rei which offers unparalleled access to a whole range of other sporting activities and some fine restaurants and diningclubs. Praia Del Rey has an award winning 72 par golf course, rated as the best in Portugal and 15th in Europe. The course is part links and part wooded. It is a good test for all handicap abilities. Excellent golf shop and club house, golf academy with PGA-qualified teachers. Driving range, putting green and bunker practice area. Minimum handicap required: Men 28 and Ladies 36. A handicap certificate is required when booking in at the club house. São Martinho do Porto is a little Silver Coast gem that sits along a horse-shoe bay just a few kilometres north of the other beautiful resort town of Foz do Arelho and just 10 km south of the ancient fishing village of Nazaré. Nestled in between these two towns’ lies beautiful São Martinho do Porto. Protected from the Atlantic by a naturally formed, shell shaped bay, this delightful resort town offers white sand and calm blue waters to a small but ever growing number of sun seekers. We can’t think of any reason why you would want to leave Sao Martinho, but it is an excellent base from which to explore the rest of the Silver Coast. The Un World heritage town of Obidos is home to some beautifully preserved medieval buildings within the walled bastion that has a history going back to the Roman occupation of the area confirmed by archaeological excavations that reveal the existence of a Roman city called Civitas near the hilltop on which the Obidos village and castle were established. This Roman settlement is most certainly the mysterious Eburobrittium. The Obidos Lagoon and Bird Sanctuary are of national importance (a stunning location with elevated bird observatory and local bird list – accessible by travelling south along the A8 motorway) The are 78 resident species; 46 visiting species and 40 Migrants species so it is a most unusual treat for most. One other really popular use for the Obidos Lagoon, far removed from the sanctuary of course, are the many highoctane water sports it offers. You could spend the whole day water skiing, snorkelling, canoeing, paragliding or simply fishing quietly in some of the more quite sheltered spots along the lagoon. No fishing licence is required so you simply choose your spot at random and enjoy the beautiful and stress-free environment around you. There are a number of little restaurants nestled among the trees along the shoreline where you can get refreshments and also have lunch and dinner at superb low prices. Changeover day: Saturday preferred, but flexible depending on flight times and booking period. We ask you vacate the property by 11.00 am on departure day to allow for cleaning and preparation for the next guests arriving at 4.00 pm on arrival day. Bedrooms: -Bedroom 1 with double bed with fitted wardrobe, bedside tables. It is located off the common lounge area. The apartment receives plenty of natural light and enjoys fresh cool breezes during the summer. Bathrooms: -Bathroom 1 with bath/shower, WC and Bidet bowl. Kitchen: - Fully fitted modern kitchen with cooker, hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, kettle, coffee make and all other necessities for a comfortable stay. Living rooms / Lounge: - TV, DVD player, CD music player, coffee table, sofas with dining table leading to patio area. Utility Room: - There an iron and ironing board provided. Others: -Broadband Internet is provided with Wi-Fi. Cleaning / towels / linen: - Bath towels and bed linen are all included in the rental price (except for beach towels). -Beach towels can be hired @ Euro 3.00€ per towel per week, so please consider ordering these with the sales agent during the booking process. -Mid-vacation cleaning is not included in the rental charge but we can provide this service for an extra Euro 50.00 that we can deduct from your breakage deposit at the end of your stay. -In case you do not want us to provide the mid-vacation clean, then we leave a fresh change of bed linen and towels in the closets for you. - The apartment has patio chairs with table and also 2 sun loungers. Kindly ensure that your do not remove these from the premises.

Refundable Damage Deposit Pricing Notes
GBP£200,00 If mid-vacation cleaning services are required, this can be arranged at an additional cost of GBP£50,00 /- per visit. The cost of heating during winter visits or any other cold spells at other times of year, is charged GBP£20,00/- per day. Swim towels extra GBP£2,00 per towel per week. Please check at the time of booking.
  • • 30% Initial deposit payable by bank transfer 4 weeks prior to arrival. Then 70% is payable by bank transfer 4 weeks prior to arrival.
  • • A fully refundable breakage deposit of GBP£200,00 will apply to all bookings. This amount is payable, along with the final rental instalment, 4 weeks prior to arrival.
  • • The breakage deposit will be refunded within 10 working days after leaving the villa subject to any damage or breakage that occurs during your stay.
  • • If you are visiting from outside the European Union, then the breakage deposit should be paid in cash Euros on arrival. The caretaker will inspect the property and refund your deposit in cash Euros, on departure day, provided there is no damage or breakage at the property.
