ABOUT THE VILLA Beautiful and tastefully restored 3 bedroom detached property with private pool and BBQ just minutes away from the beach. Sleeps 7. The villa is of a traditional Portuguese design with the main house to one side and then a large courtyard to the side and the back that sport the private pool, enormous BBQ terrace and space for parking 2 cars, should that be desirable, within the walls of the property. There is ample parking for 2 further vehicles in the parking recess / ramp just beside the front gate. The rooms are all spacious and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is very well equipped, bright & airy seamlessly connects to the rest of the house. The lounge, that faces out onto the rear garden and pool area gets plenty of natural light through large wrap-round French windows with a dining area for 6 to the far left of the lounge as you enter from the kitchen side, for those sumptuous meals enjoyed with friends and family. Just outside the kitchen is a spacious BBQ patio with traditional Portuguese brick BBQ that is absolutely ideal for dining, al fresco, whilst you enjoy the superb morning and evening sunshine. The other outside area that is really inviting is the pool area. Moving along the rear of the villa is an open terrace that connects to the lovely private pool and which has ample room for sun loungers and seating room for at least 6 guests. It is very secure and private. EXCELLENT LOCATION The villa La Rose des Vents is tastefully decorated, designed and equipped to a very high standard. Located only 3.2 miles from the sandy beach at Foz do Arelho; the villa is within a short drive of all the amenities both in Foz do Arelho and 4 miles from Sao Martinho do Porto. NEARBY TOWNS Both resort towns have a choice of supermarkets, banks, a selection of fine restaurants and plenty of shops just minutes away in Caldas da Rainha and historic Obidos. There are also local grocery shops, cafes bars and restaurants right on the beach. The house itself is a short 600 metres from the sea. ABOUT THE AREA The Silver Coast of Portugal has managed to avoid the over development and over-commercialization of Portugal’s other major tourist resorts. Its beauty and charm has therefore gone undiscovered among visitors from Europe, but has always been popular with the Portuguese. The soft, sandy beaches on the Atlantic coastline are cherished by the local population and provide welcome relief from the bustle of city life. As those busy resorts have become more crowded and expensive, the distinctiveness of the Silver Coast and all that it has to offer, stands in sharp relief, by offering a real slice of Portugal, superb stable weather and great facilities / amenities at affordable prices. It is not surprising therefore; that we are now seeing large numbers of European visitors, and some from far beyond, who are discovering what the Portuguese have known all along. São Martinho do Porto is a little Silver Coast gem that sits along a horse-shoe bay just a few kilometres north of the other beautiful resort town of Foz do Arelho and just 10 km south of the ancient fishing village of Nazaré. Nestled in between these two towns’ lies beautiful São Martinho do Porto. Protected from the Atlantic by a naturally formed, shell shaped bay, this delightful resort town offers white sand and calm blue waters to a small but ever growing number of sun seekers. We can’t think of any reason why you would want to leave Sao Martinho, but it is an excellent base from which to explore the rest of the Silver Coast. The Obidos Lagoon and Bird Sanctuary are of national importance (a stunning location with elevated bird observatory and local bird list – accessible by travelling south along the A8 motorway) The are 78 resident species; 46 visiting species and 40 Migrants species so it is a most unusual treat for most. One other really popular use for the Obidos Lagoon, far removed from the sanctuary of course, are the many high-octane water sports it offers. You could spend the whole day water skiing, snorkeling, canoeing, paragliding or simply fishing quietly in some of the more quite sheltered spots along the lagoon. No fishing licence is required so you simply choose your spot at random and enjoy the beautiful and stress-free environment around you. There are a number of little restaurants nestled among the trees along the shoreline where you can get refreshments and also have lunch and dinner at superb low prices. For Surfing enthusiasts, this stretch of Atlantic coastline has long been revered by the surfing community for the outstanding quality of its waves. Peniche is home to “supertubos” and the largest wave ever recorded, rose to 30 meters high near the charming fishing village of Nazaré in 2011. For the younger guests, the town of Sao Martinho and Nazare present excellent opportunities for enjoying some night life in the bars and night clubs there. The other famous towns of Fatima, Alcobaça, Batalha and Tomar are all about an hour’s drive northeast from the villa and are most enjoyable for their architecture and colourful history. Fatima is home to one of Catholicism’s most holy Basilicas that was designed and built in the early 20th century attracting millions of pilgrims visit there each year from all over the world. Tomar has a magnificent old Templar fortress on the hill surrounded by acres of terraced gardens, natural springs and orange groves. A part of the monument has been used as a convent for some years but most parts are open to the public. ACCOMMODATION: Bedroom 1: Master bedroom (King Bed) with windows and with a door connecting directly with the courtyard outside. Bedroom 2: Twin bedroom with fitted wardrobes and views to the side of the house. Bedroom 3: One double bed and one single bed with wardrobes on the upper level through a small staircase and with plenty of natural light from the south-facing windows. This bedroom has an en-suite toilet & shower. Bathrooms: - The Family bathroom is on main floor with shower, bath, bidet and toilet. - En-suite bathroom upstairs: shower over the bath, bidet, basin and toilet. - En-suite Bathroom with shower, toilet with WC. Kitchen: The kitchen is well equipped with induction hob, oven, extractor fan, microwave, dish washer and fridge freezer, toaster, kettle and coffee machine etc. Ample work surfaces, plenty of kitchen cabinets for storage with cutlery and crockery for 10 guests. Living Room / Lounge: Large lounge with elegant French windows overlooking the rear patio and swimming pool. There is a large flat screen LED SMART TV with DVD player and a collection of DVDs and music CDs for the use of guests. Comfortable but stylish modern seating for 8 adults. Free satellite receiver/tuner giving access to many French language and European channels, music and 24 hour news channels as well. Cleaning / towels / linen: The property is cleaned every changeover day which is usually Saturday. For guests staying more than one week, the cleaners will arrive for light cleaning, providing fresh bed linen and towels, turning the beds and freshening up the bathrooms. Midweek cleaning available at an additional charge. Please note that bath towels are for sole use in the house and not for use at the beach or swimming pool. We can provide beach / swim towels for a small extra fee of £1.50 per towel per week. Please inquire whilst booking. Our staff will be happy to assist. Other: WiFi is available at the house free of charge. We will provide access password with final instructions 2 weeks before your arrival in Portugal OUTSIDE AREAS: Parking: There is parking in the driveway for up to 2 cars but you could also park in the street right in front of the house as it is quiet and very safe. Swimming Pool: Modern 6.0m x 3.0m pool with paved patio area that is ideal for getting gentle sun tan or simply for quiet relaxation. The pool can be lit up after dark providing the perfect spot for enjoying the evening BBQ.

Refundable Damage Deposit Pricing Notes
GBP£300,00 If mid-vacation cleaning services are required, this can be arranged at an additional cost of GBP£60,00 /- per visit. The cost of heating during winter visits or any other cold spells at other times of year, is charged GBP£20,00/- per day. Swim towels extra GBP£2,00 per towel per week. Please check at the time of booking.
  • • 30% Initial deposit payable by bank transfer 4 weeks prior to arrival. Then 70% is payable by bank transfer 4 weeks prior to arrival.
  • • A fully refundable breakage deposit of GBP£300,00 will apply to all bookings. This amount is payable, along with the final rental instalment, 4 weeks prior to arrival.
  • • The breakage deposit will be refunded within 10 working days after leaving the villa subject to any damage or breakage that occurs during your stay.
  • • If you are visiting from outside the European Union, then the breakage deposit should be paid in cash Euros on arrival. The caretaker will inspect the property and refund your deposit in cash Euros, on departure day, provided there is no damage or breakage at the property.

Hello Ben and all the guys in Portugal Holiday Rentals - Merci beaucoup pour votre aide et conseils utiles!! We were a group of 5 friends from France who stayed for a week in this area last summer. One week were in Cascais which was also nice, but quite busy. Then we were for one week in the small village of Serra do Bouro to just relax and spend time talking and sleeping most of the time. The villa is in so nice location we could walk along the paths looking over the sea. Small little cafes with Portuguese cakes "pastéis de nata" and friendly local people. We really loved our experience. We recommend the house to other people as well.
